Novice

It’s clear how the design is connected to driving at least one business goal, and would create value for the business. Some market constraints have been considered.

Proficient

The design is contextualized in a well-developed understanding of the market and business environment. Metrics have been identified to evaluate the success of the design.

Expert

Design decisions are business driven without sacrificing customer-centered decision-making. All planned work is connected clearly to measurable results.

Feature Prioritization

Novice

Feature prioritization has been attempted, but it’s not clear what (besides assumptions) shaped the priorities.

Competent

Features have been prioritized according to desirability (user value) and either feasibility (implementation costs) or viability (business value).

Proficient

Features have been prioritized according to desirability, viability, and feasibility. Features have also been shaped into a rollout plan, with stages in mind for when to consider/deliver which features.

Expert

Other stakeholders with expertise in tech, business, etc. have been meaningfully incorporated in the prioritization process, to improve the quality of priorities across desirability, viability, and feasibility.
